Ever notice how sometimes helicopters seem to have minds of their own? Just last week on a training run, we had one acting like it was auditioning for a stunt double in an action movie, veering off course like it was trying to avoid a flock of geese. Makes you appreciate the electronic countermeasures even more when your ride starts to act like it’s ready for a freefall.
That sounds wild! I had a similar experience during a night flight last month when our chopper suddenly felt like it was in a dance-off with a flock of seagulls. It’s crazy how those moments really make you rely on your training and the tech, especially in unexpected situations.
