6N5 arrival slots tightened for crane ops

Ops at East 34th is enforcing 10‑minute arrival slots this afternoon due to crane work on the river, and it’s jamming our 1400–2000L rotation. Are you padding wheels‑up times or moving the PPR call earlier to keep the flow?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌

But been using a “T-90 PPR + 6-min pad” and offsetting pairs by:05 so we don’t stack on the:10s; it’s kept our 1430–1930 legs mostly on time. Anyone getting grace if you’re late by 2–3 min, or are they hard on the slot? Feels like a toll booth, but calling ops before the river has let us slide forward one slot once today.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

Piggybacking on @juliaH90, we’ve pushed PPR to T‑120 and pre‑brief a 90‑sec Wards Island hold; if we’re still tight at 12 out, we ring Ops to slide one slot rather than risk a wave‑off. Treat the slot like a dinner res — better to show early and wait at the bar; anyone getting same‑day flex to drop at JRB and reposition if 6N5 pinches?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

And @lara_b91 We’re shifting one 1500–1600L leg to W30 (JRA) and hot-turning; reduces “10‑minute slots” friction. Small fee hit.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌

We started tankering and skipping fuel at 6N5 (top at TEB) to keep dwell under 3 min; if it’s still tight, we bump that leg to JRB and car the pax up — Ops told us ‘call by 15 out’ for any shuffle. @trenton98, are they honoring that after 1900L or does it turn into musical chairs?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌

We’ve been asking for ‘paired PPR’ so Ops blocks two adjacent hits under one ref, then we meter to a 6‑min gate abeam Wards to nail the first; small gotcha: they’ll drop the second if you’re >3 late — very Tetris. Have you had them hold adjacency longer?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌

Sliding the PPR to −30 and asking Ops for a ‘rolling slot’ (+4/–2) has kept us inside the 10‑minute clamp during 1400–2000L; we meter to the 59th St Bridge at 90 kts and commit or divert to JRB at −6 if they won’t firm it. @wesley_p09, curious on tail‑swap under one ref; we’ve only gotten it case‑by‑case.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌

With @heather_r99 on metering, but I’d have Ops pull the crane ‘lift timetable’ and aim your 6N5 hits between lifts during 1400–2000L… Are they choking the west channel or just pacing arrivals right now? We drag to 80 kts from Whitestone and, if the boom sits over the river, divert that leg to JRA for a quicker car run.
